Description
Student art from 1900. On a bag in 2026.
This design is drawn from a stencil illustration by M. B. Akass, a student at the Art Academy of Chicago, published in The Inland Printer, one of America’s most celebrated design publications of the Art Nouveau era. Over a century later, Melodia discovered it, reimagined it through modern graphic design, and brought it back to life on cool grey faux leather.
The iris, long a symbol of wisdom, courage, and the beauty of the natural world, rendered in the sinuous, organic lines that define the Art Nouveau movement at its finest. The bold black linework against the grey ground gives it an almost architectural quality, graphic and refined at once.
For the person who appreciates where beauty comes from.
