Phoenix + Floral

A contemporary interpretation of an 18th-century Qing Dynasty textile — transformation, fragility, resilience, and renewal through wearable form.

Flowers & Fire

The collection begins with a textile.

Inspired by an 18th-century Qing Dynasty silk featuring phoenix and floral motifs, this collection explores transformation through wearable form. The phoenix rises. The flowers bloom. The design lives on skin.

Artist’s Note:

Flowers and fire.

As a painter, I have always been drawn to cycles of transformation. Gardens bloom and fade. Seasons arrive and depart.

The phoenix appears throughout mythology as a symbol of renewal, rising from the ashes of what came before.

In Phoenix + Floral, these two symbols intertwine. Flowers and fire. Fragility and resilience. Endings and beginnings.

The collection is an exploration of what it means to continually become.

A reminder that growth is rarely linear. That beauty often emerges through change. That every ending carries the possibility of renewal.
